Water Related Advanced Training and Education for Regional Needs in Maghreb, May 2012 Print

UNESCO Chair coordinator, Prof. J. Ganoulis, attended the TEMPUS project meeting held in Annaba, Algeria from 2-7 May 2012.  This project is for the establishment of the Regional WATER centre at EMI-UM5A, Rabat.  It  aims to assess, develop and upgrade curricula that will provide engineers, post-graduate students and professionals with in-depth knowledge that will allow them to meet and follow up the new regional water resources polices and master plans of the Maghreb governments, and achieve a holistic approach to sustainable development of water resources in Maghreb.  The project will also create a regional and national training and teaching centre in water technologies. In particular, this meeting focused on:

1 : State of the art of project, planning of activities and responsibilities
2: Planning of training courses and visits to European partners
3: Transfer of funds to Algeria
4: Equipment
5: Water centre in Algeria
